401. I want to say: propositions of the
form of empirical propositions, and not only propositions of logic, form the
foundation of all operating with thoughts (with language). –This observation is
not of the form “I know…”. “I know…” states what I know, and that is not of logical interest.
if this ‘observation’ – is not anyone’s
claim to knowledge –
then what is it?
as Wittgenstein says –
something he ‘wants to say’ –
it’s an assertion
–
Wittgenstein’s assertion –
and I would say – yes –
that’s all we ever have –
if we have anything at all –
assertion
