'For the person or persons that hold dominion, can no more combine with the keeping up of majesty the running with harlots drunk or naked about the streets, or the performances of a stage player, or the open violation or contempt of laws passed by themselves than they can combine existence with non-existence'.

- Benedict de Spinoza. Political Treatise. 1677.

on certainty 378

378. Knowledge in the end is based on acknowledgement.

to know is to acknowledge –

it is to respond –

to an assertion –

with affirmation – or denial –

ok –

that is all it comes to –

I agree –

but if so –

there is no need for the term –

‘knowledge’

all you really have here is logical actions –

assertion –

affirmation – denial –

that’s the basics –

if you want to wrap the package up –

and give a description –

like ‘knowledge’ –

all very well –

but it’s just packaging  -

presentation –

and in the end –

irrelevant
