623. What is odd is that in such a case I
always feel like saying (although it is wrong): “I know that – so far as I can
know such a thing.” That is incorrect, but something right is hidden behind it.
‘I know – in so far as I can know such a
thing’ –
really just points to the uncertainty in
any claim to knowledge
it is the unknown – that is hidden behind
it
