on certainty 571

571. “My name is ... – you can rely on that. If it turns out to be wrong you need never believe me in the future.”



‘my name is …’ –

is all that is required –

saying 

‘you can rely on that’ –

‘if it turns out to be wrong …’ –

etc. etc. –

is just to load it up with –

rhetorical rubbish –

the fact is –

regardless –

of any protestation –

to the contrary

the assertion –

like any assertion –

is open to question –

open to doubt –

if others assent to it –

all to the good –

if they don’t –

bad luck
