on certainty 118

118. Now it would be correct to say: So far no-one has opened my skull to see whether there is a brain inside: but everything speaks for, and nothing against, its being what they would find.

if you opened up Wittgenstein’s skull –

in the absence of the description – ‘brain’ –

or any other description –

what you would  find –

is that which is not described –

and that which is not described –

is unknown

description – makes known

and so –

 whatever description you use –

is just what you will find

and further –

whatever description you do use –

will be open to question –

open to doubt
