on certainty 51

51. What sort of proposition is: “What could a mistake here be like!”? It would have to be a logical proposition. But is it a logic that is not used, because what it tells us is not taught by means of propositions. – It is a logical proposition; for it does describe the conceptual (linguistic) situation.

‘what could a mistake here be like!’

this is not a logical proposition –

it is a rhetorical exclamation

it assumes that the concept of the mistake –

is valid –

when the concept has not been established

and on the basis of this –

propositional sleight of hand –

tries to get you to describe it –

it’s a con job

if you hold with certainty –

there can be no mistakes

and in an uncertain reality –

again – no mistakes –

what you have is –

uncertainties

this concept of the ‘mistake’ –

is a fraud
